Complex Dementia Issues
How to Troubleshoot on the Job
Our advanced course in dementia care, looks at the more controversial issues and discusses ways in which we are directed to approach them. From sexual behaviours, coupling, refusing care and residents with other mental health issues on board, we examine the ethics and look at guidelines. Many delegates leave this course with an updated view of the subject and with new skills that will enable them and other staff to change previous ideas.
Discussion is key in the course and there is often disagreement, but delegates will receive information on where to explore further and reflect on long held beliefs that may no longer be best practice. We also take some time to visit rare forms of dementia and how they can go undiagnosed if staff fail to recognise the signs.
Suitable for senior staff, managers and owners
