Communication needs to be the priority in delivering dementia care. As dementia affects our communication channels, staff must understand how it works and how unique it is to each individual.
This course can be a half day, full day or two-day event, depending on facility requirements. We cover the four basic communication channels, show how different dementias effect each one, and give staff the tools required to communicate on all levels. Managers’ report an improvement in interactions and decrease in client noncompliance after staff have attended this course.
